My last post - the quick post - made reference to the gathering of bloggers in celebration of the recent renovations to the Ronald McDonald House here in Winston-Salem. My plan WAS to recap the event and focus on the renovations and those whose generosity made it possible. However, one of my new blogging acquaintances, Pickles and Cheese, has done such a fine job of sharing both photos and words along this line, that I'll send you to her post for that information and move on to another task.
Let's meet some bloggers!
I met several local bloggers Saturday and many of them I didn't know. So, I thought I'd share my journey of 'getting to know' some local bloggers with you - because I know how much you want to do everything just like me.
Today let's click over to the Ronald McDonald House blog and meet Watson. Watson isn't your ordinary blogger because he walks on four legs and had fur: Watson is a friendly Bassett hound. Watson spends his time around the House making friends, organizing the staff and making Laura's life interesting (see Laura excerpted from our bloggers group photo below). Sometimes, he'll even Laura write something for his blog. Click on over to Watson's blog now. Go on. Be a good puppy.
I had a great time this morning, compliments of the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem, with several area bloggers. See how great we look?
Yes, I'm one LUCKY man! I have much to share about the day, the place and these wonderful people, but today demands more doing. I'll post details later and for now I'm off to Saw Tooth for the Grand Opening of the Milton Rhodes center and some performing and fine arts experiences.
Catch you later...

What if bloggers went public? Not sure what I mean? Think on this.
What if some local bloggers set a time and location to gather and write posts for their blogs? What if they took turns each week - one offering a 10-15 minute story, topic, concept or technique about their blogging and then all in attendance took a vow of silence for the next hour to write.
After the time expired you could hang around for some share and feedback time, or just leave. Once a week or once a month?
Am I mad? We could call it something... Open Blogging? Blogging Out Loud? Public Blogging? We Are BLOG - Resistance is Futile?
1. Scrabbled layout: When I arrive at your blog there are several items I look for to get started – Your post section, blog roll and social sharing buttons. When these are scattered all over and up and down the page among awards, ads, animated links and widgets – I get distracted and often click on by. Please don’t hide the comment link. I prefer it at the bottom of the post so I can click on it after I read.
2. Random comment log-ins: Use at least one of the proven log-ins for leaving comments or give me the option to enter my info. Please don’t require me to use one and only one means of logging in, because if you do I probably won’t.
3. Floating ads or banners: I don’t like having something chasing me around on the page while I’m trying to read.
4. Music: Don’t do it. It takes longer for the page to load and if I want to surf the web while listening to music – I prefer to choose my own.
5. Heavy pages: in addition to music, having hundreds of animations, gifs. Widgets, social feeds and uncompressed picture photos make loading your site slow and aggravating. Don’t just add the latest greatest widget without deleting some old stuff. The only thing worse than a cluttered blog is one that is cluttered and loads slowly – I won’t linger.
I’m done whining now…

Change
Another second ticks past
Another moment that won’t last
Time again yields to nothing new
Leaves behind victories and youth
Those who thought one life could change
Our world from scandal and pain
Belief that hope and desire
Would cast water upon the fire
Yet failures and callused minds
Bind with broken promises finding
Brilliant victories heralding
Vanquished limits and proclaiming
Without giving merit to those
Whose lives already tried and lost
Upon the battlefields
Of soil and polices

The Top 9,009 Numbers for Lists

Here is my detailed analysis on the topic. After years of research (read "time spent reading") top 10, 20, 3, and 5 lists for countless theories, techniques, processes, and approaches I have come to the following conclusion - one that will certainly simplify and increase your success at list making. So, here are the top 9,009 numbers for lists and how to use them.
Approach #1 - start with the number 1 and then number each item on your list consecutively until you reach 9,009.
Approach #2 - start with 9,009 and order your list in descending order until you reach the #1 (and often most important) item on your list.
And there you have it! The Top 9,009 numbers for lists and how to use them!
(in case you haven't noticed, lists are very big these days and I wanted to write a post about lists - tongue firmly planted in cheek. Did you really think this would be a list of 9,009 items?)
